Senior Manager - Desktop Engineering Team Lead
Salary: 115k + 15% bonus
Job Discription
This position will lead a team of full-time and contract employees, and is responsible for the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of the Desktop Systems environment for 2,500+ client systems. This Senior Manager will use established commercial best practices to develop images and other strategies for the deployment of Windows XP/Vista desktop systems in the enterprise. This individual is responsible for making design decisions on all key components of the enterprise client computing environment and must have clear understanding of the rationale for the deployment of each component. Candidate will continue to improve knowledge and certifications in various key areas, particularly with regards to Microsoft operating systems and deployment tools.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or Science. Strong non-degree candidates with advanced IT industry experience will also be considered.
•MCSE and IBM/Lenovo Certification preferred.
•7 - 10 years of relevant experience.
•Highly experienced in the development of images for desktop and mobile computing devices using Symantec, Microsoft, or other enterprise imaging solutions.
•Experience with Altiris Deployment Server a plus.
•Thorough knowledge of XP operating systems including: SYSPREP, RIPREP and Unattended Installations of the OS as well as AD, GPO and Networking.
•Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting and Windows Management Instrumentation.
•Experienced using virtual technologies for the development, testing, and troubleshooting of systems in a lab environment.
•Knowledge of how Security templates are developed and applied.
•Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects as well as to lead large, client-directed projects.
•Ability to multi—task and maintain ownership of escalated or identified technical problems until a resolution has been achieved and validated.
