Salary: $90-115k DOE

The Consulting Engineering Services (CES) Business Line provides a wide variety of engineering and consulting services to the Power Generation and Energy Intensive Industries sectors. Our services are structured to assist our clients to evaluate potential projects, implement projects, and improve the performance of existing assets. Projects include feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, plant modification/improvement studies, and design review.

Responsibilities 
Technical Focus: Mechanical systems which include boilers, turbines, pumps, fans, cooling towers, heat exchangers, piping systems, valves, air quality control and monitoring equipment, water treating systems, fuel, ash and materials handling, fire protection.

-Plans, coordinates, schedules and conducts detail phases of mechanical engineering work for assigned portions of major power plant projects, and for total projects of moderate scope. This includes work assignments, staffing, scheduling, and review.
-Acts in the capacity of a “lead” in supervising the work of assigned designers, drafters, and support engineers, which includes work assignments, scheduling, and review.
-Develops alternate methods, techniques and/or design concepts for application in resolving unique engineering problems.
-Coordinates mechanical engineering activities with personnel in other departments, project managers, and client engineers and representatives including design review and the resolution of areas of concern.
-Performs special studies and/or analyses, involving review, research calculation, selection, etc., to develop required reports.

Qualifications  
-Requires a BSME or related engineering degree, plus a minimum of 5 year's experience performing mechanical engineering work in the power industry.
-PE license or currently in active pursuit of such registration.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, ability to lift 30 lbs., able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time, and be able to travel, up to 25% of the time.
-Special Courses with a Power Systems focus are a plus.
