Software QA Analyst

Salary: $55k - $75k

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

(1) COMPUTER SCIENCE PROFESSIONAL

(2) LEADERSHIP ABILITY

(3) 1 – 3 YEARS BLACK BOX TEST EXPERIENCE

(4) WEB BROWSER KNOWLEDGE USING INTERNET EXPLORER, MAC SAFARI, FIREFOX, NETSCAPE

(5) TROUBLE SHOOTING SKILLS

(6) KNOWS TWO OR MORE OPERATING SYSTEMS: WINDOWS XP, UNIX, LINUX, MACINTOSH.

(7) SQL KNOWLEDGE

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

(1) UNDERSTANDING OF TEST CASES AND TESTING METHODOLOGY

(2) ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE

(3) WORKING TOWARDS A CS OR CE DEGREE

(4) WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF AUTOMATION TOOLS SUCH AS MERCURY QTP

• Complete the initial smoke/acceptance test on all new builds.
• Break project into separate sections and assign to those testing.
• Coordinate the testing with all individuals testing.
• Coordinate with the test engineer all testing being performed per project.
• Write and compile test procedures with the help of the Test Engineer.
• Accept the code builds into testing
• QA Analyst is not allowed to receive a new build without proper documentation such as engineering build notes and a differential list.
• Coordinate to ensure all individuals testing have the proper build and are informed as soon as a new build is available.
• Forward build notes and differential lists to Test.
• Work with Config Mgmt to remove all old builds from the test server.
• Schedule and attend all Problem Log meetings and help coordinate the Problem Log meetings.
• Follow test procedures in the controlled lab on each of the browser platforms available.
• Verify all defects in Jira are well documented.
• Verify that all submitted bugs are fixed and closed in Jira as new builds are installed.
• Conduct additional ad-hoc testing focusing on problem areas
• Ensure all problems found in ad-hoc testing become part of the test procedure.
• Maintain a weekly status report to review with Test Manager. This includes the status of each team per project.
• Regularly report to the Test Engineer and other interested parties the progress in testing and the number and seriousness of problems found.
• Record test progress in the Test Matrix and store those results in a common location.
• Hold daily morning meetings to update and summarize where the testing is at on the project
• QA Analyst must keep everyone informed and current on schedules, delays, and other potential problems concerning the project.
