Software Tester

Salary: $40k - $55k

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

(1) PC , MAC, LINUX KNOWLEDGE

(2) TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS

(3) WORKED WITH AND FAMILIAR WITH AT LEAST TWO DIFFERENT WEB BROWSERS I.E., INTERNET EXPLORER, FIREFOX, MOZILLA

(4) HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA WITH 1 TO 2 YEARS SOFTWARE TESTING EXPERIENCE.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

(1) HAS ATTENDED OR IS ATTENDING COLLEGE IN THE COMPUTER SCIENCE FIELD

(2) TECHNICAL SUPPORT EXPERIENCE

(3) A+,MCP, OR MCSE CERTIFIED

(4) COMPUTER SCIENCE CLASSES TAKEN DURING HIGH SCHOOL SUCH AS NETWORKING, PROGRAMMING, TROUBLESHOOTING

 
• Follow test procedures in a controlled environment on each of the software platforms available.
• Review Requirements Document at the start of each project.
• Review past history of related projects.
• Document all defects in Bug Tracking System giving step by step instructions on how to reproduce the bugs
• Ensures testing on new builds as new builds are given out by the CM group
• Verify that all submitted bugs are fixed as new test software is deployed.
• Conduct additional ad-hoc testing focusing on problem areas
• Regularly report to the Test Lead the progress in testing and the number and seriousness of problems found.
• Record test progress in the Test Matrix and store those results in a common location then communicate to Test Lead.
• Ensure that bugs found are reproducible on multiple systems using different web browsers
• Assist in debugging and narrowing the issues down
• Be a backup to the Test Lead when necessary
