The Consulting Engineering Services (CES) Business Line provides a wide variety of engineering and consulting services to the Power Generation and Energy Intensive Industries sectors. Our services are structured to assist our clients to evaluate potential projects, implement projects, and improve the performance of existing assets. Projects nclude feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, plant modification/improvement studies, and design review.  

 
Responsibilities 
Technical Focus: Civil/Structural systems which include roadways, grading and drainage, foundations, structural steel, equipment supports, underground structures, buildings and enclosures, platforms and access.

-Develop, plan, coordinate and direct the structural engineering design work to include site work, buildings, structures, and foundations for a major power plant project, or several smaller, but complex projects. This includes work assignments, staffing, scheduling, and review.
-Develop or evaluate plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the engineering effort.
-Develop new or improved structural techniques or procedures for application in unique engineering problems.
-Coordinate the design of assigned systems or projects with involved company personnel (e.g. field and construction staff) and with client management which includes structural related calculations, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
-Maintain engineering records, lists, and reports as required to ensure compliance with the client's schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to procurement specification, and/or to ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved.


Qualifications
-Requires a BSCE or related engineering degree, plus a minimum of 8 year's experience performing structural engineering work in the power industry.
-Working knowledge of codes, such as IBC, ASCE7, ACI, and AISC.
-Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software, such as: STAAD, GT STRUDL, and RISA.
-PE license or a current active pursuit of registration if not already registered.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, ability to lift 30 lbs., able to sit for extended periods of time in front of computer and be able to travel, up to 25% of the time.
-Special Courses with a Power Systems focus are a plus.
